Building My Photography Portfolio – Free Portraits for Singles & Couples

I’ve been thinking about how to keep building my portfolio, and I’ve decided to offer free portraits for singles and couples. It’s a great way to meet new people, get more experience, and create some beautiful images along the way. Families will come later, but for now, I want to focus on individuals and couples who want a fresh portrait.

I’ve done quite a few headshots lately, and while I love them, I also enjoy capturing people in a more relaxed setting. Whether it’s a solo portrait that really represents someone’s personality or a couple’s session that tells a bit of their story, I want to explore that side of photography more.

The idea is simple: if you want a free portrait session, reach out to me. I’ll be setting up a few shoots over the next few weeks, and I’d love to work with people who are interested in getting some updated portraits. Whether you need a new profile picture, something for a dating app, or just a great photo of yourself, this is the perfect chance. And for couples, it doesn’t have to be anything fancy—just a fun, casual shoot to capture the connection between you two.

The sessions will be laid-back and easy. No stiff posing, no pressure. Just good photos in natural light with a focus on capturing real expressions and moments. I want to make sure people feel comfortable in front of the camera, and I think these sessions will be a great way to do that.

I’m also using this as an opportunity to experiment with locations. I’ve got a few spots in mind—some outdoor settings that work well for a natural, adventurous look and a few urban locations for those who want something a little different. If you have a place in mind that’s special to you, I’d love to hear about it!

So why free? Well, besides building my portfolio, I want to meet more people and get my name out there. Word of mouth is huge in photography, and if I can create some great images that people love, hopefully, they’ll share them with friends and family. That kind of organic growth is exactly what I’m looking for.

As I mentioned, I’ll be doing family sessions later on. I know there are plenty of people who want updated family photos, and that’s something I plan to offer in the future. But for now, I’m keeping it simple with singles and couples to really refine my style and get comfortable with different types of portrait sessions.

If you’re interested, reach out! I’ll be scheduling sessions soon and would love to work with you. Let’s make some awesome portraits together.

Chris.
